Info zum Zack Walther (English)

Zack Walther is an Americana roots singer-songwriter from New Braunfels, Texas. With a one-of-a-kind sound, Zack has been hailed as a Texas Americana Sensation. Zack’s music is rooted in American heritage, from the English and Irish music of the earliest settlers’ to the blues and jazz of the old South and the R&B of Detroit. Walther’s voice ranges as far and wide as his song choices. In his rendering of Leonard Cohen’s anthem-like “Hallelujah”, Zack can reach down deep in his throat to find a guttural howl and then soar up to highs that ring like a prayer. To watch him perform is to see a musician in his prime delivering straight from the heart.

For the past 2 decades the Zack has played over 200 shows a year, from every honky-tonk bar to some of the biggest stages in the US.   He’s seen and done it all through the years, from supporting some of their musical heroes, like Willie Nelson and the late Leon Russell, to headlining their own tours.  Through it all, Zack has become a constant in an ever-changing world we call the Music Business.

Over the past 20 years, the Zack Walther has released more than a dozen albums including 3 live records. He was signed to Universal Records for their first two studio albums but have since released every record independently.  Clearly it is this “post-record label era” where the band has found its true voice that really sets them apart.   With songs like “What Kind of Man” and “Flowers on My Grave”, it is obvious that the band is much more than “Country” because he has deep roots in Blues, Rock, Gospel and Soul.   Zack blazes his own path instead of following the trends.
